Nevada completed the Animal Care Aide program at Malaspina University-College and started as a receptionist and veterinary assistant at a busy practice in Nanaimo. She then went on to complete her diploma in Veterinary Technology at Douglas College, graduating in 2011. After passing the VTNE, she became a Registered Veterinary Technician. Nevada started her career at Chase River Veterinary Hospital from 2011-2016.
In 2016, she welcomed her first child, and shortly after in 2018 welcomed her second. She took some time to stay home with her children and returned to work in 2020 as a Pet Nutrition Advocate for Royal Canin. This is where her passion for nutrition came to be. She returned to Chase River Veterinary Hospital in 2021 where she has pursued her specialty in nutrition.
She shares her life with her husband, children, her two cats (Popeye and Noah), her dog (Ruby), a rabbit (Coco) and a goldfish (Guppy). Nevada is also an active member of the Canadian Academy of Veterinary Nutrition and the BCVTA.
